We did this trip after walking the Portuguese Camino Trail, meeting up with the rest of the group in Florence. There were 5 of us and we each got to choose a part of Italy that was a bucket list destination. Claire's choice was Cinqueterre - or 5 Earths, beautiful to see, a nightmare to get around as its a large non-car area, spanning 5 coastal villages, where you launch yourself on public trains and hope for the best. But if you walk around that corner full of tourists, you will find beautiful outlook posts, rugged fisherman and the odd bit of board yoga happening in the bay!
Adele's choice was Tuscany and, oh my, how beautiful. I wish we had longer to explore. Go there. As in now. It's beautiful, it's restful, it restores, and then there's the wine....
My choice was Venice for my birthday, that has it's own blog dedicated to it!
