This is not a complete exhaustive collection of restaurants in Johannesburg, but rather what my friends like to call "Shelley's list"!
Joburg restaurants are constantly changing with new, hip and happening spots opening every week, so it's best to check before hand.
Kolonaki - undoubtedly one of the best Greek restaurants this side of the Med La Vie en Rose @ Killarney Country Club -beautiful restaurant in the gardens of the Killarney Country Club Olives and Plates - Hyde park and Sandton (Olives and Plates are popping up around the city and they truly are a gem, stunning decor, brunch is best) Possums - Craighall Namak - Craighall (Indian) - One of the view Indian restaurants with some ambience (and a fire place!) Love Fish Morningside Ghazal - Melrose Arch (Indian) Grill House - Rosebank, Sandton - Grill House Sandton can be highly recommended for one of the best Sundowner spots in Joburg View / Flames - Westcliff - Beautiful views over Joburg especially when the Jacarandas are in bloom. Tortellini d'oro - Oaklands - One of the best Italian restaurants in town. Bellagio - Illovo Perron - Illovo or Bryanston (Mexican)
Polpetta - Morningside - the absolute best Gluten free pizza in Joburg, and trust me I am an expert in this field! Bistro Vine - Parkhurst La Cucina de Ciro - Parktown North DW11-13 - Dunkeld Coobs - Parkhurst - Farm to table delicious food Trabella - Illovo District Six - Emmarentia (Cape Malay) La Santa Meurte Melville (Mexican) Il Giardino 44 Stanley - Auckland Park - Great vibes for Sunday lunch on the courtyard of 44 Stanley Paputzis Linden (breakfast and lunch) El Jalapeño - Linden Cafe Del Sol Botanica- Bryanston Erwin's - Parkmore (Swiss) Codfather - Sandton
